What We Recommend for Your Pets:

Hugs and kisses with kind words:

Hugs & Kisses (touch) are Important to Help People and Pets Bond.
Do you like to touch your pets and rub your pet’s soft fur? We feel good when we hug and kiss our pets, and they feel good receiving our hugs and kisses, too!
Hug them when you come home from a long working day and kiss their cheeks. We even bite gently!) Use your dog as a footrest and your cat as a heating pad. Touching is one of the most powerful healing tools. Pets can sense our stress, sadness, loneliness, low energy, and even sickness, and touching your pet can help your problems and settle their minds as well. Give them a big hug, kiss and tell them what a good girl or boy they are. Tell them that you love them, and that you are thankful that they are there for you.

Prepare fresh home made natural & organic food whenever possible:

Why Feed Your Pet Natural and Organic Foods?
Natural and organically grown food is higher in nutrient content and has not been treated with dangerous chemicals. For example, organically grown kale may contain up to twice the vitamin C content as non-organically grown kale. Commercially grown potatoes are often treated with a sprout-inhibiting chemical so they will last longer in the store. These chemicals aren’t a concern if you buy organically grown potatoes instead.

If you cannot obtain organic produce, be certain to wash all items thoroughly before
including them in your pet’s meal. Another option is to use raw foods that are “fit for
human consumption”. Using these foods will greatly benefit your pet’s health.

And even if there are not organic foods near you, if you continue to ask for them, a demand may be created which will lead to organics becoming available! Supporting organic farming has far-reaching, positive effects in many ways. It keeps chemicals out of our soil, water, and pet dishes. When you buy organically grown food, you are supporting an industry that is less damaging to the earth and to the health of our furry friends.

Making Meals for Your Dog as a New Routine:

These recipes for your dog’s meals may seem intimidating at first. They certainly
require more effort than opening pre-packaged commercial dog food and pouring it into a bowl. However, the benefits to your dog are significant and you and your pet will be much happier if you dedicate yourself to the effort. You will also find that after you have become accustomed to making these meals, the effort decreases and it becomes a habit.
Give yourself the time necessary to let this happen. Eventually, you will know the
ingredients by heart and won’t even have to think about them while whipping up your dog’s daily feast.

Fasting once a week:

Dogs over one year of age should fast, or rest their digestive system, one day
per week. Dogs under one year of age may fast half a day once per week. If dogs are ill, they should fast under the supervision of an experienced veterinary practitioner.

If you have a very difficult time putting your dog on a fast, a large raw knuckle bone may be given on the fast day. But, since this is not truly fasting, try to work toward a real fast day. Always provide lots of clean, good quality drinking water for your dog. This is especially important on fast day, when the water will help flush toxins out of the body. If your dog reminds you of dinnertime on fast day, just be sure to offer attention and affection in a confident manner. Feeding your pet gives them attention, so on fast day, don’t neglect this interaction. Play, train, or just give extra pats, and let him/her know that they are loved and that you will fix him/her a fabulous meal tomorrow.

Use natural food & water bowls:

Also on the topic of toxic substances, it is very important that your pet’s long term feeding dishes are made of stainless steel or ceramic material. Plastics may lead to the gradual absorption of toxic elements, which can lead to cancer and other illnesses. Also, dogs have a tendency to chew on plastic bowls, which can lead to choking on or ingesting broken-off bits of the plastic..

Give gentle massages:

Pets have their own healing power.
When we touch and give them a gentle massage they correct and balance their energy. Massage improves well-being and movement by addressing the causes of physical and mental tension. It reduces stiffness, aches and pains, and promotes vitality. Lastly, it greatly enhances the communication between people and their pets.

  We recommend SENSE method.
Please visit www.debonosense.com/dogscats.htm to learn more about this method. Sanae has studied with Mary Debono, founder of SENSE method and practices the SENSE method massage with all of our pets and recommends it regularly to friends and clients.

Natural dry food we recommend for your pets:

There are many different natural pet food companies around these days, though we use Flint River Ranch dry food exclusively. FRR is a reputable natural dog food company that has been in operation since 1993. FRR provides high quality, all natural, oven-baked dog and cat foods that are delivered straight from the oven to your home. We have been recommending it to all of my clients and friends since 1997, and we have had very positive results during that time. Just one element that stands out with FRR’s dog food is that it has a shelf life of six months, as opposed to the one year shelf life that is standard with most other manufacturers. This extended shelf life, of course, is the result of the many preservatives and chemicals which the other manufacturers mix into their products.

On a side note, Flint River Ranch also has a referral program, where if you use a previous buyer’s referral number when you place your order, the previous buyer is credited towards their next purchase. We would greatly appreciate it if you used our referral number N976 if you decide to purchase your pet’s food from their company.

Tips for Changing Diets:

If you have a dog who is already on a different diet, and plan to switch them over to new food and diet, make sure you do so gradually, slowly weaning them off of their previous foods and onto the new ones. If you make the transition too quickly it can disrupt the dog’s digestion and lead to side effects such as diarrhea, etc.
