:: Vegan Macrobiotic Basic Cooking Class with Sanae & Hideki* ::

Cooking for “Late Summer”

Late summer is not known as one of our four seasons, but it is a very important time for transitioning our body from warm/hot weather to cooler weather. In this season we need to nurture our pancreas, spleen and stomach by bidding farewell to summer vegetables such as cucumber, tomato and eggplant, which cool down our body, and greeting more earthy foods. This cooking class will focus on finding out what cooking style and which whole grains, vegetables, beans/beans prodcts and sea vegetable are good for late summer so we can smoothly move from active fire summer to the creative and calming autumn.

*Hideki Kawai
He had taught macrobiotics as a head chef at Kushi Institute, Becket, Massachusetts for 22 years. Joined Eric and Sanae’s project in Santa Monica and North Fork in August 2009. Look forward to cook and teach from his experience.
